How to review and approve drafts before they send

Nothing leaves Rainmaker without a decision. Here is how to read a draft's sources, fix or reject it, and approve a whole sequence at once.

Rainmaker drafts every email and LinkedIn message for you, then waits. Each draft lands in a review batch, and nothing sends until someone approves it. Approving needs the owner, admin or approver role; editors can read the drafts but not decide on them.

1. Open the review queue

Click Review in the sidebar. The Approvals page lists one batch per campaign and channel, with how many drafts are pending, blocked and approved. A batch marked Needs edits has blocked drafts in it. Switch the filter from Open batches to Show resolved to see past batches.

2. Open a batch and pick a person

Click a batch. The Drafts list on the left has one row per person, with how many drafts are waiting and how many steps are in their sequence. Select a person to see every message in their sequence together.

3. Check the sources

Every factual sentence carries a number in brackets. Click it to see the source: what it is (for example the company website, a job posting or a news article), when it was captured, and the exact excerpt the sentence relies on. If a sentence says something its source does not, edit or reject the draft.

4. Approve, edit or reject

Each draft has three buttons:

  • Approve accepts the draft as it is.
  • Edit lets you change the wording. Click Save edit when you are done. An edited draft is checked again and goes back to waiting, so approve it afterwards.
  • Reject turns the draft down, so it is never sent.

To accept everything for a person in one click, use Approve all. On a keyboard, J and K move between people, A approves, E edits and R rejects.

5. Fix blocked drafts

A draft marked Blocked shows an Approval blocked notice that explains why: usually a sentence states a fact with no source, cites a source that does not exist, or is too long. A blocked draft cannot be approved. Edit the sentence, remove it, or reject the draft.

6. Ask for a redraft

If a person's sequence reads wrong, click Request redraft. Add a note on what to change, for example "shorter, and mention the funding round", and use Redraft in if you want a different language. Then click Redraft sequence and review the new drafts.

7. Launch the campaign

When nothing is left pending and at least one email is approved, the Launch campaign button appears at the top of the batch. Click it to start sending the approved emails on the campaign's schedule. In a campaign that is already running, approved drafts simply join the sending queue.

Want less review?

Each campaign's Overview tab has an Approval mode section. Copilot — human review is the default. Owners and admins can switch a campaign to Autopilot, which approves and sends drafts that pass the sourcing check, within a daily send budget you set. A blocked draft is never sent automatically.
