How to connect your mailbox and LinkedIn account to Rainmaker
Rainmaker sends from your own address and your own LinkedIn seat. Connect both once, set a daily cap, then choose which ones each campaign sends from.
Rainmaker sends your emails from a mailbox you connect and your LinkedIn messages from a LinkedIn account you connect, never from a shared domain. Each teammate connects their own.
One mailbox and one LinkedIn account are included in the plan; each extra connected sending channel is $5 a month. During the free trial you can connect one mailbox, and LinkedIn is a paid feature.
1. Open Email deliverability
In the sidebar, open Settings. Under Sending & channels, click Email deliverability. This page is the home for email: your mailboxes, your sender name, your signature and your sending health.
2. Connect your mailbox and calendar
In the Mailboxes & Calendar card, click Connect mailbox and calendar. Rainmaker hands you to its secure connection partner, where you sign in to your email account and grant access.
One connection covers both mail and calendar: Rainmaker sends from that address, shows replies in its inbox, and checks the calendar to suggest meeting times. When you come back you should see Mailbox connected — sends resume automatically. If you see Connection failed, nothing was changed; click Try again.
3. Set the daily cap, sender name and signature
Each connected mailbox has a Daily cap (1 to 500 emails a day, 50 by default). Change it and click Save.
On the same page, an owner or admin can set the From name under Sending identity (the name recipients see) and fill in the Email signature (full name, role, company and website). Both have a live preview, so you can see exactly what a recipient will see.
4. Add your LinkedIn account
Go back to Settings and click LinkedIn connection. Under Accounts, type an Account label (for example your name) and click Add LinkedIn Account.
In the Connect LinkedIn account window, enter your LinkedIn email, password and the country you usually log in from. Read the risk notice: automating LinkedIn is against LinkedIn's terms and can lead to the account being restricted, so you must tick the box to accept that risk for this account. Then click Connect. It can take up to 3 minutes.
If LinkedIn asks for a check, the window tells you what to do: approve the sign-in in your LinkedIn app and click I approved it, or enter the 6-digit code and click Submit code. When you see Connected, click Done.
5. Check the automation switch and daily limits
At the top of the Accounts list, the workspace switch reads Automation on or Automation off (manual assist). When it is off, nothing on LinkedIn sends by itself.
Click Settings & Limits on an account to rename it, override its daily cap (25 by default) or pause automation for that one account. Even with automation on, a LinkedIn message only goes out after someone has approved it.
6. Choose the sender for each campaign
Open Campaigns, open a campaign and go to its Settings tab. In the Sender card:
- Send from picks the mailbox. Workspace default uses the most recently connected working mailbox. When several teammates have connected mailboxes, a new campaign starts on its creator's own mailbox, if they connected one.
- LinkedIn account picks the LinkedIn seat. All connected LinkedIn accounts (rotate) is the default.
Click Save changes at the top of the page. Replies always go out from the mailbox or LinkedIn account the conversation started in.
If a connection stops working
A mailbox that needs attention shows Stopped working or Needs reconnecting, with a Reconnect button. A LinkedIn account in trouble shows Error and a Refresh status button. If you disconnect a mailbox or LinkedIn account that a campaign is set to send from, that campaign pauses: pick a new sender in its settings, then resume it.
Try it on your own site.
